I Have a Suggestion for Similar Worlds

Personally, it would not hurt my feelings any if SW would remove the 'questions' part of this site and go back to just posting and writing stories in groups as it used to be. I just think it would be more interesting, and it could help cut down on the clutter and even problems that the forum often has. In the very least might just have that box of categories so that when clicked on, only the posts under that particular one would come up. Very little (almost no) attention gets paid to the groups anymore...like I'm writing this here in this group and just wondering who if anybody will actually see it. People are often posting out there and saying how they miss EP and this would be a good way to bring some of that atmosphere back. Others post how boring it is here, and that 'questions' thing does get boring and uninteresting much of the time. Just something to think about, I mean I don't think the entire site needs change as I like how it works much better here. I'm just talking about this one detail.

You make some very good points. There's much more of an emphasis on questions as opposed to stories here and even the most inane questions will often get many more views and replies than the most thoughtful, well-written stories. This is a contrast from how it was on EP, where stories got a lot more attention.

At the moment, I've got two stories ready to go, but I'm wondering if I should even bother posting them. In fact, I'm not sure it's worth my time and effort to write anything at all from here on out. I'll probably post the two I just wrote, but that might be it for quite a while.

That said, I don't favor removing the questions section here. I do enjoy interacting on some of the less-dumb questions and have had some success with the very few that I've posted. And remember, EP did have an active Q&A section. It's just that there was a different culture there with a different emphasis. Ultimately, I fear that getting rid of the questions part of the site--because it is so popular--would cause a mass exodus from SW, seriously threatening its future viability.
