How do you feel about receiving pictures via text, with no context?

I have a family member who does this.

For example: might send a picture of a car, their childs school pic, etc.

Why not send a caption? I.e
" look, it's his preschool photo".
" do you like my new car?"

I don't like receiving pictures with no context.
It's like you're fishing for compliments or want ME to start a conversation, which I'm not about to.

i only feel this way about frequent repeat offenders. it just feels like i'm constantly being prompted. one thing i do to make it less appealing is leave them on read for a lot longer than i do for texts. it seems to subliminally prompt them to add text information that i can actually respond to with their pics. those who don't learn just get, "nice pic" hours/days later.

At times, sender is either too overwhelmed or overoccupied in their life's episodes that they prefer to directly send pics without any details on them.
