Is there a way to delete only part of a text thread from an I-Phone? Or would I HAVE to delete the whole thread?

Did you figure it out yet? You press down on the message you want to delete until you see “Reply, copy, translate, more” … click “more”, then select whichever messages you’d like to delete. Then the trashcan icon.
