How serious is the situation in the UK??

The prime minister said on the news prepare for doomsday, apparently he said it says ago but I just read it today, I have literally no canned food except an old fava beans can that is too fatty to eat,,my parents been calling me non stop,,,on top of all that my husband is traveling and people on Reddit are talking about murdering their old frail neighbours for supplies 😂 I am freaking out, I just ordered weeks worth of water and toilet paper and I double locked my doors, I got my husband huge iron baseball bat, if I am going down I am not going down easily 😂 why do bad things always happen to good people?

This is not unique to the UK, it's a problem with the whole planet.

The newest advancements in AI means that everything on the internet is now vulnerable to being reverse-engineered and infiltrated/destroyed. So it is entirely possible that say, major banks could go offline or basic web communication until people figure out how to deal with it.

Climate change is getting worse and crazier every year and it will be like this, getting worse, for the rest of our lives. This will escalate to shit that can knock out power grids or cause other major damage.

And the world order is changing. Countries like ours have known nonstop peace for decades on our own soil. With the advent of drone warfare and the collapse of old alliances... well we could see violence in our home towns in the future.

This isn't all guaranteed to happen at once or tomorrow. But its smatr to be prepared.

@Collegegirl23 Honestly his safety may be completely fine just like, it'll be harder to get by. He could end up very privileged and secure this stuff is hard to tell because every individual has their own story in the broader picture. Be a great mom, teach him to be kind yet strong, and put your faith that good kids are the ones who will build the better future.

@Collegegirl23 in this you’ll hear more and more doomsday stories related to AI - most of which are fabricated by the AI firms themselves. They want content regulation so they can reduce competition and maximize their valuations, best way to do that is to make the population fear but be dependent on the tech.
