I Like Private Messages

Have you ever received a private message that asked a simple question like, "How was your day?" and you answered truthfully and elaborately?

I received one last night from someone presumably interested in starting a simple, friendly conversation. She asked, "Did you have a good day?" Instead of merely saying, "Yes," I replied in great detail.

She never responded. Then I followed with a message apologizing for overdoing it. Still, just crickets. I'm hoping to hear back from her but fear I may have driven her away.

Anyone else guilty of doing that?

Me too. But I'm almost always the one who initiates them and I almost always get ignored or ghosted.

@LittleBlueAngelBoy That's a shame. I see an unsolicited pm as a potential opportunity to meet someone new who has something in common with me or can open my mind to something new, interesting, intriguing... Am I an eternal optimist? Perhaps. I tend to think of myself as more of an opportunist, and I hate to pass up a chance to enhance or enrich my life in some way or to have an impact on someone else's life.
