Sorry, once again having Image Site Hosting Service Issues!

MY IMAGE HOSTING HISTORY...

I used to use an image hosting service called Imgur. I had thousands of images of all sorts stored there. I did not study the 'Terms of Service' closely, as most don't, and found out that they do not allow anything other than G-Rated images. To my chagrin, I discovered this the hard way when one day without warning my Image Account with them was deleted completely after they went snooping around in my account and I lost over 10,000 images. As a result, they were all deleted from any and all Posts that I put them on here on SW and elsewhere.

Then I started using another image hosting service called imgbb that allowed all image types. After using hundreds of more images that I downloaded to that Image Hosting Site for Posts here on SW, it turned out that they were famously unreliable, with the images many times showing and then not showing on the Posts, back and forth.

The Third Time is suppose to be a Charm, right? ...no, wrong! I switched to a third image hosting site that allows all image types and downloaded thousands of images again from scratch over many months. This service was called imgbash. The site just shut down yesterday and appears to be permanently, thus deleting my images on all the Posts I used them on over the last year.

I am beginning again with a 4th Image Hosting Service and hope that this will be the last service I will have to use and will be reliable.

In the mean time, when you see my Posts with images deleted, this is what happened. I am going to try and replace the images on the most popular Posts but this will take many weeks and months to accomplish.

Again, I remember when this happened to you the first time. Same thing happened to me. But it wasn't for X-Rated photographs. For me my account just vanished.

Remember what I told you on GAG that I do. I always keep a external backup hard drive. That way I no matter where I'm at or what device I'm using. I've always have access to them.


They even have them for cellphones now.


I've stopped trusting in them websites years ago. I still use them from time to time. But with nothing important.

I have never used any image hosting to upload my pix just because of what happened to you over the years. Those pictures, regardless of their ratings are stored on 2 very distinctive and separate media.

The one copy is stored locally on a removable SSD hard disk and the 2nd. backup copy is stored on a USB stick. I am aware that the shelf life of both media is limited and that is why I periodically make a copy on a newer media as soon as it becomes available. Back in the 2010's, I used to save them on CDs and DVDs but those media are not reliable and their shelf life is not to be trusted beyond 10 years.

What service did you end up using? I'm sorry I looked through the post/comments and couldn't see it mentioned. I have had the same problem, except I used Imgur, then Tumblr, and then Imgbash. Tumblr kept cancelling my account for no reason whatsoever. I guessed it was bots, but customer service would never respond to me. Thanks.

Imgur does not allow nude or porn images which I did not know until they shut down my account with over 11,000 images on it. Then Imgbash shut their site down and I lost several thousand again. I started using imgdrop.io but I don't really trust that site either and I just tried to log onto it and couldn't so I think it has shut down as well.

My main storage service is Internxt. I am using the paywall service. They have a free one as well that one won't store as many images. The problem is you can not transfer images directly from the site because of their high level of security. So for image transfer I just use SW's image storage.

@laurieluvsit Not necessarily for pic sharing, but for at least saving files/pics without fear of losing them, I've been using idrive for a few years. So while I've lost my posted pics that I want or like to share a few times from pic sharing sites, I've never actually lost the files. If I lost those I'd die, so it's good to know that internxt is another option, b/c I'm happy to pay twice to ensure I always have everything. :)

Almost all of them have TOS not allowing any type of pornographic material. Some do allow nudity but they have AI blocking them.

I use to use Imgur for the private link option. Where nothing was public but if I gave you a link, you could see it and then one day my content was still there but the links no longer worked...at least for some of them.

Was stupid asf though cause some simple nudes were blocked that way but the most graphic recording of me was not...the irony of how Algorithms work I guess.

You can go to my 'Photo Albums' on here now, they are all still intact.

Only some of the images I attached to my Posts were effected.

I have two thousand of the 11,000 I lost in a secure location that I have paid many hundreds of dollars to purchase so I know I will never loose them again. I can't download them from there. I have to first transfer copies to a transferable image hosting site to do that which is where I run into problems.

I didn't want to use SW's image storage posting because I know I will fill it up fast but that's what I am doing for now until I can find a more reliable image transferable storage service.

@laurieluvsit I haven't found a good online storage place that allows that. Several that is public for any and all but I haven't really looked much either.

That is terrible to lose so many though, at least hope you had them locally to upload again someday to share. Everything I have I store locally too, just in case.
