Was a big deal from 2011-2018. Then, better IM platforms took over. It happens! Yahoo Messenger, MSN Messenger, Google talk, BBM, Google Hangouts, Skype and FB Messenger, all share the same fate. Well, Yahoo, MSN and BBM are dead! Skype, Google Meet and FB are still around. People still use them. Now, it's all Face-Time, Zoom and Microsoft Teams (mostly used for online classes and by Professionals). So, you're quite late to join the Kik scene. 😇
Kik is more like the free version of "Only Fans" now.

I am not surprised. It's common now-a-days. I saw an Adult movie when I was 13. However, I didn't start running after women elder to me then after the movie ended. Also, I didn't sign-up on any online platform until I was 18. I waited for the time.
My point is under-age kids shouldn't actually sign-up and parents should keep a close watch on their kids online presence. After 18, parents should let the kids free and then, it's up to them what they wish to do with it. Become a good professional, a junkie or a p*rn-star!
However, kids now-a-days become Adults by the age of 15. It's their belief that they know it all. Most of them are nothing but idiots. Most don't even know the most basic stuff. It's not applicable for all. Some are quite focused even in the modern day crap world and I admire their focus but for most Insta and TikTok is the life. So called young generation today wants everything but doesn't wish to move a muscle for it. So, my boomer behaviour is better than the crap generation of today.
