Not sure how I feel about this...

So, let's talk about [name redacted]. He was a regular on my posts and comments. Mostly benign, sometimes with innuendo. He sent me his first message and I left it there. This went on for months and I had him categorized into the mostly harmless category.

Then I made a post about pizza. He sends me a private gift with the note "I'll be sitting naked on top of your pizza."

Into the trash and no response from me, except to use it as an example in a comment about gross things we've all gotten on SW. I did not name drop him, but it was clear he saw that comment.

After that, his replies to me were less positive and more argumentative. So I started to tag him in posts where it was a joke, but sometimes an unkind one. Tonight, tagging him in a post about men acting like they are on their period earned me a block.

It saves me one. I've certainly pushed people to block me before, but always in the moment and normally about politics. I'm not sure I'd do it again, since it kind of feels like I got into the mud with him.

Also, should he post anything about me, I wanted the story to be out.

I've sent precious few PM's to people on here, and if I do send a msg to one who claims to be either 'F' or 'C' I'm respectful and mindful that I'm just one of bazillions who probably send random unsolicited messages to others seeking attention/validation/etc. If I get a reply, and it's decent, nice and respectful I say thanks and leave it to see if the other person wants to continue chatting.

It's funny because IRL I cannot, ever, approach a woman or a couple to say a 'random' hello and would be so embarassed to try it. Even in the online space, I am so scared of messaging someone knowing it'll be just like a gamified toxic modern dating site situation - 99 pct ignored, 0.9 percent go away wtf creep/predator/pervert, and 0.1 pct or less positive or at least not negative,

So it's better to just not even bother as social media (here, or FB or any other) is no different to any other place where people are angling for reasons to (maybe) try and talk to someone new online or in person.

I openly admit to having done the wrong thing more than once when trying to learn about what's fair/acceptable and what isn't, and usually those situations sting for a long time as they're big hits to self-confidence/esteem/worth etc.

If I receive unsolicited PM's I'm immediately suspicious. I treat all slides into DM's as spam until proven otherwise.
