It puzzles me how some see blocking as "censorship"…

Censorship is preventing someone from expressing their opinion at all, including to others who may actually want to hear it. When I block I’m simply deciding I (personally) don’t want to hear it, and no longer want to be part of that audience. 😔

I have the God given right to have you listen to any incoherent rants I wish to indulge in!

🙄
@DrWatson I fear some people may honestly believe this. 😅

@bijouxbroussard I actually encountered something similar years ago, in a very different context. I was talking with someone who worked in the advertising department of our local newspaper. He said that someone reading the paper has a moral obligation to read all of the advertisements! (He was serious.)

I think his reasoning was, "Those advertisers are subsidizing the price you pay for the paper, so you owe it to them to read what they have to say."
@DrWatson Was this a free newspaper ? 🤔

@bijouxbroussard Nope. I was just referring to the fact that newspaper revenue comes from both purchases of the paper and from advertising.
@DrWatson I understand. Was trying to find the smallest shred of logic in the person’s assertion. But if the customer pays for the paper, they’re paying for the content, not the ads. 😅
