My experience of this site thus far.

I must admit that I joined this site in the hope that it would be a similar experience, a worthy alternative, to the old EP site( experience project) RIP.

I do understand why EP had to die, it became so popular that it eventually became top heavy with drug pedelers and the site itself became an accessory to crime, as the equation: bad guys > moderators = shut down, proved in its reason to end.

But what i miss most is the true life stories i read about on there and the "grit" in those stories, its hard to define 'the grit' that im talking about.

It's like the type of raw uncensored honesty that you see in the scibblings of someone who has found solace in the anonimity of a site that lets them express themselves freely without fear of censorship or reprisal - for expressing the truth, im talking about Free Speech!

But 'grit' is more than just free speech its like the blue colour of steel that has been tempered by the heat of the fire(s)that forged the blade.

The stories i read where basically someone showing the world their "steel".

I want to experience reading that, here, i want to find those stories, and those people who are brave enough to express themselves to the world.

In these times, in world where AI and 'the metaverse' now exist - the beginnings of 'the matrix' - albeit a stone age version of 'the matrix' - AI lives on the internet and its a useful tool for moderating the content that real humans create and post on sites like this, yes, it exists now, but it didnt exist in its current form when EP was alive..

Which brings me to the reason for posting this, my question, i wonder dear reader, is this:

How much of the content we are reading here is real, and how much of it is editted and moderated by the big AI?

While i find 'the grit' again? Am looking in the right place? And even if i look in the gutters the dustbins and dark alleys of the web, while i find the real dirt of peoples lives and experiences, posted for all to see? Or am i only seeing what a sanitised, censored and muzzled version, has the AI maid 'cleaned' these spaces for our deemed benefit and the delight of that maids' master?

Reader please help me find that grit im looking for.

i hope to find it on this site, unless everyone is holding back their grit for memoirs and a lucrative publishing deal one day, holding onto it and giving us a watered down version of their life experiences here on SW, scared that they will lose their most valuable insights if they publish it.

Thanks for reading.

I bring the grit, but you won't find many people here who like it. I maybe had 10 blocks on EP, here I have about 300. A lot of people here are in their own little cliques and you're not allowed in if you don't kiss each other's asses and have the same penchant for grossness or snobbishness or hate spreading.
@AlchemyFox Bring on the grit baby! 😝

@AlchemyFox I was on a site called, GirlsaskGuys, for about two months and had a ton of blocks! Some people I didn't even know! That's one of the reasons I left. It's a very small and tight knit community, so, with all the blocks I had, I was running out of people to interact with.

@WizardofOz Yeah it actually kinda sucks. It's like that irl too though.

I guess people think it's funny as long as they aren't the ones left out.
WizardofOz · 26-30, M
@AlchemyFox Yep, and the thing is, I was never that provocative on there! It was just a really clicky site. If I said something that one person disagreed with, they would get ten of their friends to block me. It made me sick to my four stomachs! Lol

@AlchemyFox yes the social dynamic expressed in digital form, go to any high school and you will find cliques, the old fashioned stereotypes : plastics, jocks etc. And from what you say, thats im hearing, and its okay be a "blue" or a "red" my only gripe is that sites should not exclude the other colours. That saying/song " Highschool never ends"
AlchemyFox · 36-40, F
@Rudboy41 I have found people here to accept me. Still have a few buddies from EP days. But it's different times too. Everyone is choosing a safe place with like minded people to hide. Their clique is their way to avoid the reality that life exists outside their delusions.

@AlchemyFox how do you form cliques here. It's not like a group of people get together and agree to not talk with certain people. I hear people say what you said several times but I still don't get it.
WizardofOz · 26-30, M
@melissa001 What is "EP"?
melissa001 · 51-55, F
@WizardofOz the site a lot of us were on before they shut it down and made this site.
AlchemyFox · 36-40, F
@melissa001 oh really?? 😆 You're not paying attention then
WizardofOz · 26-30, M
@melissa001 oh, thanks.
melissa001 · 51-55, F
@WizardofOz no problem
@melissa001 I don't see the cliques either.
@MsSwan You'll see a clique when, for whatever reason, someone blocks you, then several other people block you nearly immediately and inexplicably.
melissa001 · 51-55, F
@PhoenixPhail I've never had that happen yet.
@melissa001 Then you're fortunate you've managed to escape that.
AlchemyFox · 36-40, F
@PhoenixPhail usually if they don't realize there's a clique than they're in one.
WizardofOz · 26-30, M
@PhoenixPhail It happened to me on another site. That's why I was surprised I was being blocked by people I had never even interacted with. Then I figured out, it was because of their buddies were telling them to block me.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@AlchemyFox I am all for the grit too. I don’t see the cliques because we have blocked each other and I like it so much better this way.
@WizardofOz It's too bad people are conditioned away from thinking for themselves. And, don't EVER expect people to come to the horses mouth for information. They would rather believe whatever gossip comes their way than to know truth.
WizardofOz · 26-30, M
@PhoenixPhail Truer words were never spoken. I don't block anyone. I don't care how vulgar they get toward me. I will eventually ignore them, for the most part but I might comment on something they posted if it's obviously not true.
@WizardofOz The only people I've blocked, are those I've come to find out have been catfishing me, and those who insist on shoving Jesus down my throat, even after I tell them I'll block them if they don't stop. I hate it when people need for me to join their club because of their insecurity.
