I miss EP……..

I was so young! I joined EP when I was 12 (lied about my age, I said I was 14) and it closed when I was 13 . I spent about a year and a half on the site and looking back, it was such an amazing time! I made a wonderful group of friends (still in contact with a couple of them in adulthood). I had a group of girls my age and even though we all had our struggles, it was somehow perfect. We were confused and messy but we helped each other grow. I would love to go back to that time and have all of us back together for a chat.

Don’t mind me, I’m just here feeling nostalgic. 🥺

I miss it too. I was 18 when it closed down.

@bijouxbroussard Honestly though, I think a lot of the “kids” on EP, were not actually “kids.” I found a core group and I was blessed and we pretty much kept to ourselves. And we all know that we were teenage girls because we moved from EP to actual texting / video chat. We mostly didn’t interact with anything inappropriate. We made ridiculous posts, but that’s harmless. I would receive messages from all sorts of “teens” and it was pretty obvious that they were not teens. Most of them opened up the chat telling me how they were still sp@nked at 14, 15, 16, 17 years old. Teens just…don’t do that and it was really strange. The only thing I had a hard time navigating was the unsolicited d!ck pics from old men. Sorry that your “safe space” got invaded though.
@InvisibleGirl Unfortunately, that was the other fallout with the presence of underage kids—pedophiles & ephebophiles. Obviously that wasn’t the teens’ fault, but it was an ugly element about the site.

@bijouxbroussard I’m conflicted because it forced me to grow up in some ways and it wasn’t a good place for teens in general. But it gave me so much and I wouldn’t want to change it. My experience was one of the better ones, I found great friends my own age and even a few really incredible adults who helped council us through some things. They never asked for any photos, but we’re just there to help. Sometimes it’s hard to tell parents stuff and we definitely shouldn’t have been on EP, but we found so much good there. I still talk to those adults today, by the way. They are good people.
I was 15/16 haha , a decade ago but it feels more than that weirdly

@PepsiColaP It’s really “cringe” (hate the term but it’s fitting) to look back on some of it, but at the same time, I love seeing how much I have changed since then.
@InvisibleGirl I've accepted my cringe and transcended to my true form

@PepsiColaP Perfectly said!

I think people seemed to be more real there at that time. I also made few good friends from there.

@ABCDEF7 I agree with you, I had the odd issue there but nothing like here. There’s just a big feeling of loving that time and I wish I could rewind and spend a few days back in that time. Also, The ZIP export didn’t work for my long inbox messages, so basically the important ones with the people I actually cared to talk to. Sometimes we try to remember things and we wish we could go back and read. It’s obviously not important, but just a bit disappointing.

@InvisibleGirl I was able import my posts here from the downloaded xml zip. Below is one of them.

@ABCDEF7 All of my posts exported and I imported them here. I’ll read that one, thanks!

Many of us miss it, but that site, and that time has gone forever. More is the pity. It was a better world back then.
InvisibleGirl · 18-21, F
@Carissimi Thanks for sharing those wise words! ❤️

Do you mean you pretended to be an adult then? I hope you were treated well. These places can get a bit sordid.
InvisibleGirl · 18-21, F
@PhilDeep No, I just pretended to be two years older. I was technically too young for an account.
Morrowind · 26-30, M
I can’t remember the age I was when it closed. I was like 16 when I joined. I’m an old fart now

I'm glad you have fond memories. It was a different world on EP to be sure.

@swirlie The others were 13-15 I believe, but yeah, just missing them today, that’s all. And I wasn’t living live vicariously though EP, I had friends who I chatted to there, it’s not some massive scandal.
