Do you think Reddit killed The Experience Project?

I do. This community, Similar Worlds, was made as a substitute. Although the more I look into Reddit, I can see where all the traffic has really gone.

EP was growing, but it wasn't really making money to match. The founder accepted high-profile job at a larger company at the time EP shut down, which I personally think explains it. However, EP gve a perfectly reasonable explanation for why they shut down, no conspiracy theories needed.

reddit is way too better, even the people, their sense of humor and open mindedness, it's a great platform. ep was only good at the start when people didn't abuse it with mundane posts to pass the time and fill the void

Just like here

@SW-User It became Twitter 0.5 with the new feed which prefers people you follow and those they interact with, instead of topics. Except everybody talks and reacts to sex and politics instead of stuff that truly matters, and there are way, way fewer people.

These are of course SW's main attractions: You can easily be center of attention with just a hint of (female) sexuality, while virtue-signaling against everybody else's sexuality.
I use Reddit, it’s a great site, no way related to EP shutting down

Just to clarify, I'm not suggesting a conspiracy theory to take down EP. More like how Facebook became the new Myspace. Just an observation of an evolving Internet.

@StrayTom EP's founder recommended Reddit to replace EP, so you're correct, just not in the way of your initial post: https://www.quora.com/Are-there-other-web-sites-similar-to-Experience-Project

Also he's an active user of Quora himself, so I guess you could consider that a recommendation to use Quora instead for the questions part (as opposed to stories/support).

@Faust76 Thanks for the info, quite interesting!

No, a murder killed experience project.
MntoNc · 36-40, M
It wasn't because of Reddit
Straylight · 31-35, F
I thought the pedophiles killed EP. 🤔

No, I use Reddit a lot, but it's a totally different experience than here. If SW is something to go off of.
