How do you let someone know that you care about them but they'll be better off without you anyways.

You can't, that's an excuse. You can't know if someone will be better off. That's just an excuse people use when they don't want to be with that person.

And staying with someone no matter what is a choice. Pretty much the most important things are. To not to because of excuses, honestly, that's just hurtful.

@Lostpoet if you are in love or think that you are, you are missing out on the best. Besides hurting the one you love. Things aren't always perfect in a relationship but if you truly love someone you don't give up. You keep trying because life is better with them in yours. I wish you luck.
