Why Americans are like this? Hi I am Bob I live in AZ, I am supposed to know what the heck is AZ ?

They don't tell the name of the country, they just tell you the state they live in, it's even worse when they give you two letters, hi I am Kevin I from NY, what is NY??

AZ for Arizona and NY for New York. I'm guessing since I have never been to America

More confusing bc they overlap (sometimes) with the ISO 2-letter country codes.

We don't use the initials unless we're writing.
Talking face to face we would just indicate state by name.
