Why Americans are like this? Hi I am Bob I live in AZ, I am supposed to know what the heck is AZ ?

They don't tell the name of the country, they just tell you the state they live in, it's even worse when they give you two letters, hi I am Kevin I from NY, what is NY??

Really? 🤔

I just googled "AZ" and the top result was: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arizona
@SumKindaMunster Google knows your location and tailors results.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@SinlessOnslaught What? What do YOU get when you google "AZ" ?

Something different?

I live in the US, but am nowhere near Arizona.
BlueMushroom · 18-21, F
@SumKindaMunster why do I have to Google it?
How would you feel if someone said hi I am Jenny I live in Halifax.
Hi I am Dante I am from Warsaw.
@SumKindaMunster It knows that both of us are in the US.

Someone from India may get different results and even if they don't, I doubt it would occur to them in every circumstance to type two letters into Google and expect helpful results.

@SinlessOnslaught Yes. My search engine comes up with the name of a rapper and a lot of other things with no mention of Arizona. I'm in the UK.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@BlueMushroom Halifax? Where the hell is that?
@SumKindaMunster 💁‍♂
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@FreddieUK I was able to bring that up by googling AZ rapper.

Maybe google "AZ location" and see what you get.
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@SumKindaMunster Good for you. But that's not what you seemed to be saying. You seemed to suggest that anyone in the world can find out that AZ mean Arizona with a simple Google search where it will be the top result. It isn't outside the US, it seems.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@SumKindaMunster Google it? 🤣
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@FreddieUK Well I'm sorry you misunderstood. My point is as follows: What's the big mystery? It shouldn't be that difficult to figure out what AZ meant in the context of location.

I also noted the original poster mentioned Halifax...I know where that is....now...because I googled it. It wasn't that tough to figure out.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@SunshineGirl Yes. Do you not understand what that means?
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@SumKindaMunster Did they mean Halifax Nova Scotia? Halifax, Yorkshire, UK, Halifax, VA...?
@SumKindaMunster And yet these young people have no issue communicating with acronyms. 🤣
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@FreddieUK You'll have to ask the original poster. Do you not see her comment?
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@RogueLodyte LOL! IFYKYK
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@SumKindaMunster Yes, I was suggesting that you Google Halifax to find out where it is.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@SunshineGirl I did. It's in Nova Scotia, Canada.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@SumKindaMunster And in Yorkshire, England.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@SunshineGirl Yes thank you. How many Arizona's are out there?
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@SumKindaMunster
You'll have to ask the original poster. Do you not see her comment?

So you agree that simple Googling would not tell me what I needed to know.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@SunshineGirl If I said "Hi, I'm Jugdish from Punjab?" Would you struggle to figure out where that person is?
Trav2024 · 51-55, M
@SunshineGirl Don't forget Halifax, Virginia, USA. 🤣
@SumKindaMunster What if they just said Jg or Pj?
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@FreddieUK No in fact its the opposite Freddy. Googling it would be the easiest way to figure it out.

Stop acting like you don't know what I am talking about, I am very clear and deliberate in my positions.
