Despite many bumps along the online road, I’d still use the word “cautious” rather than “desensitized.” For example, there are cases where my instinct is to try to help or just be there for a person but I’m careful about assessing whether it would be useful or a waste of my time.

I'm becoming that way here because of certain ones and their nonstop depression posts & no matter how many comments they get from people trying to help & encourage them, they still continue to be negative. Alot of them bring their darkness upon themselves and it gets exhausting.

@Tumbleweed I imagine a lot of positive feedback helps some people through a rough moment, although after a while it just becomes a pity party.
What about people who complain or write some "departure note" or other depressing thread but get little or no feedback? That has to be really rough.

@Punches I totally agree. And honestly, I've tried to be kind to this type but like I said, it means nothing to them so I just keep scrolling the minute I pick up on those woe is me vibes. It's sad. But I have to protect my own peace as well.
