if someone has a false perception of you online should you block them

ie- someone thinks you're something that you are not, they have a perception of you which is untrue....should you block people like that or debate them, and try to convince them of what is true?

I wouldn't waste time trying to convince anyone of anything concerning myself. I would correct them once and then after that move on. If it became a nuisance then I would block them.

Just moving on is the best option I feel.

I wouldn’t debate or try and convince them, waste of time.

I found out it's best to block as there mind is made up, but you never interacted with them, yet they go by what another person say.

Neither. Ignore them. It is their perception problem, not yours.
If you believe anything online you have a false perception of reality
