What does it mean when a guy you’re texting is constantly deleting your chats ?

It could be he doesn't want to clog up his phone with old messages but how you find the truth is finding out if he has "all" his messages on auto delete or just yours. I think others are right to suspect that you're being toyed with or he's hiding something but I think it's equally right that he may just not want to clog up his phone.

How would you find the truth is to find out if he has all his messages, not just yours on auto delete and if his behavior is off in any way. Going long periods without texting, making excuses not to see you, stone walling or gaslighting can play out as well and some other things will bring more of a better picture.
@SatanBurger can you tell me how do I come out of this situation?blocking seems too lame and rude

@UnderstandMe Blocking isn't any more lame or rude than seeing someone else and stringing you along which is what he's doing so I would suggest blocking and moving on with your life. But if you're not ready to, you can just accept the relationship as it is and continue to be with him.

The reason I say blocking isn't all that bad is because you're still around him, it's probably likely he promises the world to you but it never happens. If you tried to talk to him about it and he isn't ready to leave who he is seeing, you will just continue to be strung along. So in that aspect, blocking isn't really all that lame, unless you accept the relationship for what it is.
@SatanBurger as much as it is hard to believe,he is stringing me definitely

@UnderstandMe I also really want to tell you about trauma bonding, you'll feel very bad for blocking or going cold on him but the feeling isn't warranted and it will pass. I know the exact feeling and it feels "bad" but the feeling you're going through isn't correct. It will pass though, if given time to.
