Drove until two in the morning then slept well in my car until about 07:00. Now I'm in IKEA Brinkum just outside Bremen having a cheese breakfast and coffee.
Had a lot of trouble with Google Pay, eventually had to get my credit card out, luckily I could remember the PIN.
@22Michelle I suspect it's my bank and its ant-theft algorithms agonizing over whether my cards have been stolen as they are travelling at fairly high speed through Northern Europe rather than Google's technology.
@ninalanyon Credit card is working again in Google Pay. I think it was necessary to use the card in a location close to where I tried to use it via Google Pay so that the system could see that they were together.
After much trouble with payment cards, Google Pay, etc. I've managed to book the ferry from Hirtshals to Larvik at 12:45 tomorrow.
So now I can slow down and drive sedately because it's only nine hours away. Just couldn't quite make it to the ferry terminal in time for tonight's sailing. So I'll drive to IKEA Kiel for tea then drive to Aalborg to find a parking place to sleep, should arrive about midnight. After that it's only an hour or so to Hirtshals so I won't have to get up early.
