In the Willows café, Basingstoke having a vegan sausage roll and a mocha.
They are exceedingly inefficient today. The roll got forgotten and arrived cold inside even though it arrived several minutes after the coffee which itself took about ten minutes. I don't mind the roll being cold, in fact I didn't ask for it to be heated, it's just the unnecessary slowness that annoys me
Before the café I went to M&S and bought a couple of thongs. One leopard print the same as one I bought recently and a pink gauzy one that seems about the same pattern.
After that a stroll around the Willis Museum. The ground floor is where they stage temporary exhibitions. Lsst time it was all about bee keeping I think, now it's about the '90s.
As usual with old museum buildings the building is also attractive
On the first floor is a room dedicated, for the moment, to student works both from the local technical college and local schools.
It's a museum so of course there are old things too like this rather fine piece of needlework

I've seen this mammoth tusk before. I was struck this time by the caption that notes that it is merely one of the longest and most complete found in Hampshire
Well. I've written a draft reply to my brother in law's email. But so far I've only addressed the subjects he has directly mentioned. I know it's a form of procrastination but I've decided that I need to split my reply into two separate messages. One quotidian one congratulating him on becoming a grandfather and apologizing for not sending a birthday card to my mother in law, and another that concentrates of the coming out part. That way he can forward the second one to anyone else in the family who he thinks should be informed.
Time for a cup of tea before I get on with writing part two guided by suggestions regarding content to include and to not include from my lovely friends here.
Edit 20:51: Both parts written. Now they are sitting in my email drafts folder. Toying with the idea of posting a censored copy here for people to edit for me.
