My room at Exeter Uni. includes breakfast

The view from my table

When I arrived at the refectory the woman who checked my room number said I should wear shoes in case of broken glass. I pointed out that I don't have any and she said that she simply needed to make me aware that any injury was my responsibility.

I would have just skipped breakfast if shoes had been required because my heels are in my car on the opposite side of the campus at least a ten minute walk away.

It's windy, damp, and cloudy. The forecast is for rain until 15:00 and a maximum temperature of 22 C. It was 27 C yesterday afternoon as I drove down the M5!
Not raining just now though.

I'd better take both my umbrella and the leopard print rain jacket when I go for a walk around town.

I had a brief look around the RAMM, Royal Albert Memorial Museum, before deciding to visit the café for a cream tea. It took the woman at the till ages to deal with the two people ahead of me in the queue and before she got to me I decided that the café atmosphere just didn't suit so I walked a hundred metres up the street to Devon Coffee where I'm having an ok mocha and a cinnamon swirl. A third more expensive but the café is quiet and comfortable.

@ninalanyon You always look good barefoot.
ninalanyon · 70-79, T
@Barefooter25 Thank you! I think shoes distort the feet.

I set off for town while there were a few scraps of blue sky. But before I got past Reed House it started to rain in earnest. So I detoured to DH for shelter, walked through the original building to the new open space that houses the new library, Pret, Starbucks, information desk, etc.

I dare say that the new library is effective but it lacks the charm of the old library.

Here are some pictures taken while wandering around the campus this morning before the rain abated and I set of once more for the city centre.

Street art

An interesting technique, Instead of painting on a rendered wall the rendering is selectively removed
