Nina's Blog - Sunday 9th August 2026

Sunday 9th August 2026, 11:42

Taking it easy today after walking 25 000 steps yesterday. So I've just strolled from my hotel to the main street in Beeston. It's very busy with lots of people in the numerous cafés.

I'm in a place called Doughter which I thought was going to be a vaguely traditional English tea shop/bakery. But inside it's more late Roman taverna, frescoed walls and all. It reminds me of the reconstructed rooms at Arbeia, South Shields.

Having an Americano and a generous slice of Basque cheesecake.

Presumably the name Beeston means bees town.

Today's outfit. Have I worn this exact outfit before?

Seen on today's much shorter walk, not quite 10 000 steps.
