Having a rhubarb and ginger scone and an Americano in Swadford café, Skipton.

If you are ever in Skipton I recommend a visit this café. Scone was large, had a decent amount of both rhubarb and ginger, and was accompanied by a very reasonable amount of jam and Rodda's clotted cream. As well as two pats of butter which seems to be the way it's done in these parts.

Service is quick and friendly too.

I started my visit to Skipton with the unpleasant discovery that the car parks wanted 5.10 GBP for three hours! So drove back along the Keighley road until I found an unrestricted roadside spot. Then I walked to the town hall the long way round along the canal.

The canal crosses over the river

@meggie Forecast says it's going to be 29 C this afternoon, I think I'll make sure I'm back in this stone built north facing cottage before then where it will be a bit cooler.

I heard that it's even hotter down south, :-(

@ninalanyon yes its very hot already here. Im off work today and 7 mins walk to beach. I love those old thick walled stone cottages and rent one every april for a week.

Because I haven't parked in a pre-pay car park I don't have to rush back to my car so I've stopped at the Yorkshireman micro pub for a half of Trip Hop from the Oss Ett brewery which sounds a bit Norse to me.

Edit: Looked up the brewery it's not Oss Ett but Ossett which is a place.

I buy those tubs of clotted cream from Bookers Cash & Carry and freeze them.
ninalanyon · 70-79, TVIP
@ArtieKat I don't know if they still do it but Roddas's used to send larger pots in the post in polystrene insulated boxes.
ArtieKat · M
@ninalanyon I think they probably do, but I find the single-serve pots ideal for the amount of cream I use

Today's outfit is a skirt I made from a child's t-shirt and a muslin blouse split up the front to show off my pierced navel.

Checking the height of the hem of my skirt.

I've decided to stay in for today but your pics make me want to move... I will resist for a while..:)

@Boeing Moving slowly today. It's about 28 C here and very sunny. It's good that most of the buildings here are stone built so it's relatively cool indoors.
