Back in Blend, the Nottingham Contemporary café having a large Americano and a ridiculously over decorated cinnamon bun.

I'm on my way to Love and Ink for a second try at navel piercing at 12:45. I have left and right Primark flats in my handbag, not sure if they actually are a pair but I'll only have them on for half an hour.

After I'd paid for my coffee and bun the barista asked if I'd like a loyalty card that gives a free coffee after five as he remembered serving me yesterday. After rummaging under the counter for a while he surfaced and said he couldn't find them. Just as I was saying it probably doesn't matter he produced one that needs ten but that already has eight stamps and handed it to me.

In the Barrel Drop micro pub celebrating having got my navel piercing with a pint of Scrummage draught cider and a packet of Henderson's Relish crisps

An unexpected 'benefit' is that if I sit in my customary shapeless slump the piercing feels slightly uncomfortable so I'm 'forced' to sit up straight

Is it still mini skirt weather ?

@skimpyboy It's perfect weather for miniskirts and crop tops. In the low 20s, very comfortable for walking. A bit breezy today, like yesterday, so I've switched to a heavier and less broad hat.

I'm regretting being honest. The woman running the micro pub has just asked if I had shoes I could put on. Normally I would simply say no because I usually I don't have any. But today I do because of the perfectly sensible precaution against dropped needles in the piercing parlour. So I said yes.

I then asked for her reasoning. She gave me the usual drivel about health and safety but when I pressed the point she said that if I stepped on glass then she would be the one who would have to clean it up. And that's a quite a reasonable point. But she went on to say that it's also a dress code thing which I also agree is her privilege. Unfortunately she continued saying something on the lines of having bare feet out wasn't very nice. So I'll finish my cider because I paid for it and it's quite nice and it's not the cider makers fault that they're sell to a prejudiced landlady.

Why is it that those who want shoes to be worn can't just say "It's the dress code here.". After all it's their establishment, they don't need any other justification and certainly don't need to rely on spurious notions of liability or on insulting people's feet.

Do night clubs tell women to put their heels back on if they decide to dance barefoot?

Today's outfit is one of my shortest skirts and sleeveless top

These were all taken at the Chinese Bell Tower in the Arboretum. I went there as a sort of pilgrimage, in remembrance of my brief affair with @Lancer17.
