They swipimg LEFT on you cos you're not the leggy tall type
This is the story of a horse and if any moral creeps in its purely coincidental🙃
He was a runt with an attitude...born late in the year..all horses are assigned the birthday January 1st..drive astrologers nuts😄
His name was Northern Dancer..one person said he looked like a bulldog in racing silks..when EP Taylor tried to sell him there were no takers..the horse was head strong and cantankerous.
The usual ting to do in these cases was to geld the horse but the but Taylor still l had faith.
Winning two races in Canada,he was entered in the Remsen, where the Americans looked on with doubt..as you may have guessed,he won and in record time..
Then fate intervened a usually season ending injury
Brainstorming the team innovated,as Mr Spock might say ..It was vulcan..a vulcanized shoe
He won at Hialeah BUT Bill Shoemaker quit..the Taylor team was crushed,;the horse indifferent annd grumpy as usual🤨
The team went with Bill Hartac taking the reins..then came the Derby..surely the runt couldn't set a record but he did,the Preakness followed
His shorter, churning legs could not keep up to the grueling mile and a half but it was up to for the new Canadian hero where he continued to kick butt and take names🏇
Alas he suffered a bowed tendon and was to fate that all male horses dread...being put out to stud!
His fee was not enormous..but his offspring Nijinsky and other offspring turned a lot of peoples heads and his sire,Norther dancer was once again in the spotlight.
Now the stud fee was a cool million no guarantee of a live foal.
The RUBBER BAND boy(big money types) were scouring the globe for Northern Dancers yearling
The young runtish Bay changed the economics of horse and 70 percent of todayy race horses can trace their bloodline back to Northern Dancer....
