Grace notes on a May Evening...

Do you ever feel certain artists become passe, maybe to rise again..I was tentatively thinking Kurt Vonnegut,Edward Albee, ,maybe Salinger and to me John Barth

Actually I was thinking of a musical antiquity,The Grateful Dead..maybe brushed off as 60 hippie movements..
Now I was listening to a long interview with Bradford Marselis, who evidently loved to play with the Dead on tour, noting their using Jazz style improvisations, and at the same time winging it,never the same playlist from night to night..I myself like to their story tunes,Me and my Uncle and sometimes this

Tumble down shack in Big Foot county
Snowed so hard that the roof caved in
Delilah Jones went to meet her God
And the old man never was the same again
Daddy made whiskey and he made it well
Cost two dollars and it burned like hell
I cut hick'ry just to fire the still
Drink down the bottle and be ready to kill

And so it goes and so it goes
