Last day in Bedford, next stop Nuneaton.

I was going to take the bus again today but then I remembered that I had some books in my car that I should give away and that there was a free library outside the 229 Project on the Bedford road. So I dropped off a huge academic tome of Toxicology, handbook of transformer installation, maintenance, and planning, an academic computer science textbook, and a chick-lit paperback.

I had two reasons for visiting the centre again: to take a second look at the Higgins Museum, to visit the Madad charity shop to see the skirt that the young lady volunteer promised to show me. And to see her too, it's delightful to converse with someone so open minded and curious.

The shop was open when I got there but I walked past to check that the Coffee with Art café was open and when I got back the charity shop was closed!

Perhaps I'll try again tomorrow morning before setting off on the short journey to Nuneaton.

Right now I'm in the Crema café having a quite nice mocha and a slice of orange cake

Got caught in the rain on the way back to the hotel.

And now I realize that Premier Inns are designed by people who never walk anywhere because there is no way to dry a wet coat or long skirt, no radiators, no heated towel rail.

The Tree Hotel in Iffley is better in this respect, my room had a large heated towel rail that ran at night.
