In the Pantry Café at the Higgins House Museum in Bedford. Usually museum cafés are dismal places but in this case both the museum and the café are well worth a visit.

Having a grandmother's cake and mocha. Best presented mocha this year, probably the best cake too.

The café also has open WiFi, no messing about with obscure passwords and the name of the access point includes the name of the café. Why can't they all be like that.

Today's outfit. It was essentially dictated by the weather. But when I went into the Madad Charity shop the young lady running the place today took one look at me and said I've got just the skirt for you! She ran off to the back room abut cam back saying she must have left it at home, so I'm going back on Saturday to see it. We went on to have a long conversation on the subject of trans identity, difficulties with medical/surgical transition and the differences between Britain and Norway. It's a good job the shop was not busy because we chatted quite intensely for quite a while. It all made me feel very good because she not only complimented me on my outfit but when I said that i wear much shorter skirts she said "You've got the legs for it.". When we were discussing breast enlargement (mine, not hers) and the difficulties faced by those born male compared to those born female I mentioned that as I was already 70 hormones would probably take too long to take effect and that surgery would be the best solution she said i didn't look 70.

Feeling good today!

I agree with you about the password thing.

I know you like to go barefooted but do you like high heels?

@turbineman40 Of course I like high heels. I'll be putting some on shortly.

@turbineman40 They look nice. Currently trying to get back into heels after about 3 months of Gout induced heel problemts.

Looking toward the centre os Bedford along the Great Ouse from The Garibaldi Bridge

The footpath goes under the railway bridge. Their is so little headroom that I have to bend over, perhaps it's just as well that the cold weather prompted me to wear a longer skirt than usual today.

Something came home

A deer seen just a hundred metres from the Premier Inn

And a squirrel in the park in Kempston The squirrels are much less wary of people than others I've seen on this trip. That's probably because people feed them, well I saw one person feed one of them

There were a lot of lace makers in Bedfordshire. I'm always astonished at fineness of some handmade lace. But I've not yet seen a museum that tells how long it takes to make a given piece.
