A very sunny day today. Went out for a walk to post a parcel. Did over 7 000 steps.
But as usual something as happened to spoil things. The incoming water pipe for my house runs through my neighbour's garden because both houses were built by the same family in the early 1950s and that was the simplest thing to do. Anyway, my doorbell rang an hour ago. At first I thought it was mt mobile playing strange music; we hardly ever have any visitors so I keep forgetting what the doorbell sounds like. It was my neighbour saying that there is a continuous flow of water coming into the manhole where the water pipes join and that it's flowing where my pipe goes. There's no noise of flowing water in my house so presumably the leak is underground, quite likely in my neighbour's garden. So now I'm waiting for him to send me some pictures to forward to the insurance company.
