Nina's Blog - Sunday 1st March 2026

Sunday 1st March 2026, 20:19

Been a bit of a slob today, got up at 10:00,did all my baking in my dressing gown, haven't shaved yet!

Still it was a pleasant day of eating and drinking. Drank less alcohol today, I found a good alcohol free IPA, so I'm not feeling quite so tired as last Sunday.

Watched Where Eagles Dare.

Where Eagles Dare, one of my father's favourite movies. One of the few that wasn't a :Westren".
Oh, and as for alcohol I think I've had about 5 - 6 glasses of wine since Christmas, thank you Mr Gout.

@22Michelle We enjoyed it, although my sons did pick a few small holes in the plot. Things like the car they pushed off the road going up in flames. And the amount of ammunition that seemed to be available.

So it's true that alcohol aggravates gout? I remember that it used to be said that too much port and so on caused it.

@ninalanyon Plot holes in a Hollywood movie???? How can anyone make such a claim?
As for alcohol, yes it is on the list of Gout issues, like every other thing I enjoy eating and drinking.

Today's outfit is just indoor clothes. Long demure skirt for sitting on the couch with my sons watching the film.

So what's happening when eagles dare?
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@Boeing Lots of explosions, lots of gunfire, and a complicated plot about spies, and double agents. It's set in WWII in a fictional castle in Bavaria.
