Nina's Blog - Wednesday 8th October 2025

Next stop for accommodation is Flensburg but it's only a bit over two hundred kilometres away including a slight detour to IKEA Kiel for breakfast so there's no rush.

It's a very grey day here in Elmshorn, not a scrap of blue in the sky.

Today's outfit does not include shoes! My right heel has healed enough to walk on smooth pavements and floors without discomfort at last. And of course without shoes I can't wear tights.

@ninalanyon It's the perfect outfit to walk around barefoot!!

@Barefooter25 What makes it better for being barefoot than any other outfit? I mean I go barefoot in almost all the clothes I wear so I'm curious as to what makes this one stand out.

Not complaining, just curious.

@ninalanyon It's probably because that outfit is nice for the time of season. But overall Nina, you look good barefoot in all the outfits in your pics.

Having lunch at IKEA Kiel, much too late to call it breakfast and anyway it's much too much to call breakfast too.

Chicken schnitzel and an apple something

Charging my car at Busdorf while using the WiFi from the Shell station across the road. There must be an military aerodrome somewhere nearby because several fighter jets have gone past climbing from quite low altitude.

Holy crap I thought it was Tuesday. Where does time go.
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@shinyplasticlove Happens to me too! Quite often in fact. If I didn't have a clock on my mobile and computer screen I'd never know what day it was. It always amazes me to read stories like Robinson Crusoe where they diligently record the days and always know what day it is!

@ninalanyon That was a good book. My Grandmother gave me these a very long time ago.

@shinyplasticlove Defoe's original is a bit of a heavy read though. Read it once many years ago but I haven't managed to read it again!
