I hope this is not all there is to therapy?

Well, I started counseling and I've had at least two sessions.
So far the first one was better than the second one.
I didn't really say much in the second one and this silence was interpreted by the counselor in a way I didn't think was accurate.
We did discuss some things that I felt, but she didn't hint at any solutions or advice.
She said she was going to give me some kind of homework last time- that did not happen.
At the end of this one she said she was going to push me a little.
So far it's just been me talking and her saying stuff that I could of gotten off the internet, to be honest.
However, I am willing to give it a bit more time and see what happens in the next session and a few after that.

Therappy is about facing things (events, situations, relationships) and dealing with, hopefully overcoming, dealing with the effect they have had on us. Often this is accomplished through talking with another person. Some of us can accomplish the catharsis through writing. Much like physical therapy where we gently push against the limits of what hurts us, it takes time and effort to affect the change necessary for our healing. Forgiveness does not mean that you Forget the injury, but it will enable to take the focus off of the situations and the people who have harmed you. I will be praying for you and your recovery.
