Nina's Blog - Tuesday 30th September 2025

Decided not to bother with a hotel last night. Drove until about 22:00 and stopped at Aire de peche et repose. That has to be the grandest name for the simplest aire ever. It was just a short stretch of gritted track beside the road with the only amenities being the hedge shielding it from the road and a rubbish bin.

But it was quiet and I slept reasonably well after my evening meal. Before getting there I had stopped at a Leclerc supermarket with Tesla chargers in the car park and gone in to buy toothpaste. While idly looking at the chilled food I saw a box described as a Swedish Meal, then one described as Nordique, and finally one called Oslo! So that's what I had for dinner

The fork really was edible, quite pleasant.

Arrived at my friends' house at about 17:30. Hadn't been there for more than a few minutes before he reminded me that we had an unfinished conversation about the changes that he noticed last time and that there were even more now. So we have had quite long conversations about my dressing, dressing in general, labels that might or might not apply etc.

Just before we said goodnight he said that of course he had met a number of gay people as his son is gay and living with another man but that I am the first trans person he has met. I'll have to gently challenge him on that tomorrow, I'm sure he has met a least one or two in passing even if he didn't realize it.

I replied that some people, those for whom labels are really important, might dispute that he did actually meet a trans person today.

The subject of labels did come up earlier this evening and he asked if that was how I described myself. I prevaricated slightly saying that until this year I definitely did not, that up until this year I had described myself simply as a cross-dresser. We went on to have a discussion about degrees of femininity and masculinity. And I pointed out that it's really not one dimensional like that.

Anyway, it's gone well and I'm pleased that I came. I think I am out now. The only thing remaining as far as decisions about degrees of outness are concerned is the size of my tits. Today I'm wearing the M&S crop top with 250 ml of water in a balloon in each cup, half the size of my usual falsies. I wore a black sleeveless top from Papaya and my favourite wrap-around skirt.

@ninalanyon I think the best you could have said was your previous comment that you're not trying to be a woman, you're trying to be you!

@22Michelle I'll try to remember that if a suitable moment happens again.

On the drive from the ferry I passed through Falaise.

I had switched to a dress while my car was charging at Cherbourg

And this is what I was looking at

I'm having a late breakfast at IKEA Tours. The woman on the till addressed me as madame.

@22Michelle I'd heard of the idea but this is the first I've actually used.
