Various odds and ends seen in Calstock and on the way home.
A plaque celebrating the centenary of the Tamar Valley Line
An old telephone box with no handset and some books
A mural on the side of the community centre
I'm not sure what these things are for
I was rather taken with the clock in the window of the Salmagundi gallery
Instead of retracing my steps back to my accommodation I walked up the road to the Asda Express on the A390 between the holiday village and Gunnislake. Along the way out of Calstock I passed the Masonic Lodge which is quite a striing building
Further up the hill I crossed the railway
Almost at the Asda I passed the Drakewalls Mine
After picking up some sausages and tomatoes for dinner there was only a kilometre to go along the road that I was reluctant to walk along yesterday. But it wasn't raining this time and it turns out that all the drivers seem very careful, perhaps they are all incomers.
And here's a view from the road
And another St Piran's flag on the side of a skate installation

Pictures from my walk to Calstock today.
A sort of gate post at th entrance to a farm
Looking out across the valley from the footpath through the Friezeland woods
Looking down along the path down towards Calstock
The disused mill where I took some selfies
A use for a piece of an old iron bedstead
A bridge over the little stream that I was following downhill. Another place where I took some selfies

I am at Slapton Sands and went across to Dartmouth on the ferry , and hour nude on the beach and a few looking round my wind break , sun is breaking through the clouds and quiet warm

@skimpyboy I've never been to Slapton. Doesn't seem quite warm enough for stripping off completely to me! It's only 16 C here according to the forecast.

@ninalanyon just a bit warmer here but with the sun out it alright, got a few nosy lookers

Almost at the Tamar
And the first glimpse of the viaduct that was the purpose of this trip
The Cornish flag
And the whole viaduct
Embedded in the retaining wall of a cottage garden is a Victorian postbox that is still in use
More stonework from the past as I walk along the Tamar to Calstock
A curious object, can anyone tell me what it is for? Or is it just for being itself?
Now some politics
And something Scandinavian.
Another glimpse of the viaduct
An more flags, pirate flag at the top of course
