Nina's Blog - Tuesday 19th August 2025

Busy, busy. Got up at 07:10 to start packing to leave Nottingham. Done about two thirds of it and taken that out to my car. Having a cup of tea and checking SW before starting on the rest.

Here's what I've packed so far.

That's a bag each of
- tops
- skirts
- dresses
- cardigans, shawls, and scarves
- knickers
- handbags

The desk is covered in laptop, Chromebook, jewellery, camera, perfume, etc and the shelf above is similarly covered.

The weather has changed. Only a few days ago it was 30 C. Now it's raining gently and not expected to get warmer than 20 C. Here's the view from my room

Got to my hotel at last about half an hour ago. The receptionist greeted me warmly and said she was considering calling me to find out if I was actually coming.

The technician at Tesla Nottingham has arranged for the fan module to be replaced on Thursday at Tesla in Solihull which is only 26 km away to save me driving all the way back to Nottingham which is 85 km away.

Luckily I was only 30 miles away when I noticed that the climate control was not working. Sent a message to the service centre. Technician replied that there is nothing in the logs. I just drove back to the service centre. Showed him the problem, he's baffled that the car is not complaining of a fault. There are two of them poking about under the bonnet now.

Stopped at the charger north of Leicester to top up. Then as I drove into Leicester to take a look around I felt a bit warm. So I adjusted the cabin temperature. But nothing happened. The fan speed is set to maximum but there is no airflow.

I'll have to rush back to the service centre.

Its a lot cooler today and I was expecting to just be driving to Coventry, no promenading today. So I'm wearing a dress

We could do with such rain down here in the South-West!

Travelling light!

@22Michelle Every time I travel I vow to take less with me! I think that next summer I will manage to be much stricter. I can feel my attitude to owning thing shifting slightly at last. When I get back to Norway I'm going to put all but my absolute favourite clothes, handbags, heels, etc. online for sale.

I'd better get on with the rest of the packing, got to be out by 10:00.

@ninalanyon I've been reducing the number of dresses, tops, lingerie, shoes, etc., and my guy things for the past year at least.......and yet my wardrobe, drawers and suchlike seem even more crowded! Got to stop buying clothes, jewellery, shoes, books, games, electronic mefia and get rid of all the stuff I'm not using regularly. I'll update you if I ever make any progress!
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@22Michelle I've got rid of almost all of my male clothing. Mostly just kept the things that have some sentimental value or that are sufficiently colourful to use in fem mode. My wife bought some very nice colourful shirts for me that I will wear again with a bra under one day.

Did you come to Nottingham once too often?
When this is over my friend, will there be any need for you to come again?

@JSul3 I'll be back!

It's one of my favourite places and has some of my favourite people in it.

Probably be back for a couple of weeks next summer.

It’s a challenge to pack all of your clothes into the car?
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@turbineman40 Not yet :-)
