After several hours of searching accommodation booking sites for somewhere to stay in Fife I finally settled on Glenrothes. Partly because I found a place to stay that seemed likely to be reasonable at a not too desperately high price but also because on the Welcome to Fife web site it says:
One of the best ways to get to know Glenrothes is to follow the Town Art Trail. Not only will this artistic route take you all over the town, you never know what, or who, will pop up next!

The Town Art Trail’s 172 public artworks include a family of hippos, a ring of dancing children, giant mushrooms and 13 carved concrete slabs arranged into a circle of standing stones. The Town Art Trail winds its way through several attractive parks, including Riverside Park, which has woodland walks, children’s play areas and beautiful gardens.

In the H&F café having a cheese scone and Americano

Two outfits today. I was too lazy to go out to my car and then back in to change so I wore the distressed denim mini for the walk

Then when I got back to the hotel I picked up another skirt and top from my car on the way in.

So this is what I'm wearing now. I've folded the waistband over and pinned it with a couple of brooches to shorten it. I think I'll sew it permanently.

Just back from a fifteen thousand step walk out to Birkrigg via Swarthmoor. Birkrigg is a hilltop with an Ordnance Survey trig point on top. I've taken a lot of pictures today so I think I'll leave posting them until a bit later. Time to go and get a snack in the Home & Finance cafe.

A woman has just walked past my table and as she passed she smiled at me and said "You look lovely darling."

So, all you closet cross dressers, transvestites, or just people who dress different: get out there and show off. The rush I get from the compliments makes me feel so good!

That's a good find on a place to stay. The Arts Trail sounds like an interesting place to investigate

The East Neuk of Fife is very scenic abd worth exploring. Maybe swing by the "Secret Bunker". Interesting to see what was constructed during the Cold War.

@22Michelle I've just looked at the map and your suggestions are about as far from Glenrothes as it's possible to be and still be in Fife! :-)

@ninalanyon Not so sure on Glenrothes as it was one of the post war new towns. I've been there, but can't remember much about it. Fife is not ond of my favourite areas, but that could be because it's where my wife, and therefore my in laws, are from.

@ninalanyon Try Falkland, very historic. Glenrothes is not the best place to start exploring Fife.

Sounds like a trail i‘d like to visit too. I wish you a good time there.

@Rickichickie Thank you! I'll take lots of pictures so you might get an impression of it if you look at my profile again in a few days time.
