Almost finished dressing. But pride doesn't really start until at least 10:00. So should I put my stockings on now which means wearing shoes of some kind at least or wait until later. I can't wear 90 mm heels all day

I think I'll go out to my car and fetch my flats first. Should I carry my heels with me or come back to the hotel later to get them.

The forecast is for a maximum of 17 C with about half a millimetre of rain per hour.

I'm now in the same café as yesterday after wandering around for an hour or so taking pictures and being complimented on the outfit. I seem to have hit on the perfect outfit to be noticed in!

Having a toasted teacake and an Americano.

I was about halfway through the the first half of my teacake when a woman stopped in front of me said how lovely my outfit was and asked if she could take a picture! We chatted for a while and exchanged names. She's Ann and is American married to a Briton and living in Ulverston. She asked where I was from and when I explained that I live in Norway she said she had been there quite recently to take a group of tourists to see the northern lights, Tromsø, etc. How is it that almost everyone I meet has some connection with Norway, a visit, a friend, a spouse, cousin, or parent, etc.?

A little while later she passed me again and this time noticed my heels and exclaimed that she couldn't wear anything that high without falling over and then asked to take a picture of them! Of course I said yes, my appetite for compliments knows no bounds!

When she left she gave me her card and said call me if you would like to meet up for coffee or a glass of wine. So next week I think I'll do that.
