Nina's Blog - Tuesday 10th June 2025

A very slow start today, woke up at about 09:30 after going to sleep a little after midnight. I've spent the morning so far continuing to write up yesterday's 21 k step trek and also to book the service for my car to get the headlight fixed. So I have to be in Nottingham in ten days time. So planning accommodation for the next two weeks will be this evening's task.

In other news: I've cut myself shaving! I think that's the first time in several years. I had thrown away the disposable razor I've been using to shave my legs and body as it seemed that it was getting dull. I have a load of unused disposable razors and I just picked a new one at random but it doesn't seem as well made as the previous one. It doesn't have any markings on it saying who made it but the other one was Gillette. The new one is in the bin too now and I'll use another Gillette next time.

Now i have a couple of bits of tissue paper stuck to my right shin! Not exactly the best look.

As you can see by the time stamp today is going to be much less strenuous. I think I'll just stroll down to the museum.

I've just been back to the bar. I thought I'd have cider but the dry ciders were from Hecks. Nothing wrong with Hecks but I'll be passing through Somerset later on my travels so I'll probably buy a few litres to take home with me. But as I was looking at the boxes behind the bar I noticed Depeche Mead.

So I'm having a glass. It's quite expensive, 5.59 GBP for 125 ml, but it is 14.5 % alcohol so I wouldn't want a much larger glass.

It's rather pleasant, quite light, unlike some meads which have an overpoweringly sweet flavour.
