Today will be different from recent days in Maidstone. At least it should be. Instead of going out and wandering the streets I should be waiting outside the hotel at 12:00 to meet someone. Actually I have a suspicion that he won't turn up because I sent hime a message on Fabguys.com at about 19:00 yesterday that he hasn't read. It's not always the case but occasionally those who get cold feet just stop looking at Fabguys it seems and one at least disappeared from the site altogether (or blocked me, it's not possible to tell).

So this morning I'll just potter around and dither over things like what to wear.

Sitting here at the window watching the traffic. I have seen at least seven emergency vehicles with lights and sirens cross the bridge this morning. Hardly anyone made any effort to get out of the way and the ambulances, et., all waited for the traffic lights to turn green. Back home in similar situations the traffic parts as though the ambulance were Moses parting the Red Sea. And all the traffic would stop including that which has a green light so that the emergency vehicles could safely drive through on red.
