Having breakfast now after an hour and a half of tidying and vacuuming in my car. Managed to remove all the twigs left over from taking the lilac cuttings to the dump and most of the dust. Found a few lost earrings, I wonder if I still have the other members of the pairs. I've put the cushions in and one of the rear seats down so I'll have a place to sleep tomorrow night, probably somewhere near Sittensen in Germany.

I've made a check list for the things I should take with me. There are challenges with check lists: avoiding putting too much on it, and more importantly, remembering to both consult it and tick things off. I perform poorly at all of them.

Ugh, having a hard time getting started. Sunday is always a day of overindulgence which means that Monday is a day when I struggle to get going.

Here's today's outfit. A stretchy skirt so I can crawl around in my car cleaning and tidying it before packing.

My T+shirt says what I will have to be today to avoid filling the car with more than I need

This packing lark is stressful. You know I said packing things like knickers, stockings and tights was easy? Well it turns out that i decided sometime in the winter to tidy things a little and put all my suspender belts, stockings, and stayups in a box separate from the more everyday tights. But today I couldn't remember where I put, in fact I didn't remember that I had put them! And of course I found some more shoes and boots that I just must take with me even though I had already packed a small duffel bag with various pairs already.

So I still haven't got as far as the dresses, skirts, and tops.

Time to calm down with a cup of tea.

I've managed to stretch my breakfast out to lunchtime and now I'm starting to feel a bit chilly so it's time to get back to work packing. Now I have the difficult part: which dresses, skirts, and tops to take. Or rather which of my favourites am I going to have to leave behind.

Things like knickers, bras, tights, are easy because each category is small enough to fit in a large handbag so i just find a hand bag that I want to take anyway and stuff things in.

Almost finished packing. All that is left is my laptop, camera, chargers, various electronic bits and pieces, nail varnish, passport, residence card, and other small details.

I should review my check list to see if I have forgotten anything! There won't be time in the morning, have to be at the ferry terminal at 07:00 and it takes and hour and a half to get there plus time to top up the battery so I should leave by 05:00 :-(

Earlier today we have had brilliant warm sunshine, rain, thunder and then about an hour ago hail! The sun was shining at the same time.

Hail is very rare here, I can't remember the last time w had hail.

Time for bed. I've packed everything I think I need, probably twice as much as I need as usual. So it's time for bed; have to get up at 04:30.
