You being mistaken for a woman again?

@22Michelle I've been told I'm entering the wrong loo several times in the last week :-)

But usually by old men who I suspect might either not have their glasses on or simply have rigid Ideas about how people dress.

Having written that it occurs to me that I should explain what I mean by old men. They are not necessarily older than me, they just have that stereotypical old man look, dowdy brown clothing, perhaps a cloth cap, old fashioned haircut,. Essentially they would not look out of place in a 1960s episode of Coronation Street, or Last of the Summer Wine.

@ninalanyon I know what you mean. I find I'm chatting with men who at some point will tell me that its okay for me because I'm so much uounger than them. They then tell me their age and I tell them I'm older than they are, sometimes by several years.

@22Michelle I had exactly that experience in Newquay last summer I was standing at the top of the cliff overlooking the Great Western beach when I guy on a bicycle stopped for a chat. Now this one doesn't quite fit the stereotype because it was clear from the start that the reason he stopped was that he recognized me for what I am. We had a very pleasant conversation and he politely propositioned me, I politely turned him down because he just really wasn't quite my type.

But we carried on chatting and eventually got to ages, he suggested that we were about the same age. I said I'm almost 69 and his jaw dropped. Turned out that he was only 60. He had obviously had, and I think was still having, a much harder life and it showed in his face and teeth. He looked pretty wiry though and I suspect that he was probably a lot tougher than me.

@ninalanyon At the gym a month or so ago a guy I was talking to was telling me how hard going it was because he's now 62. He was stunned when I said I was about to turn 70.
