Having breakfast at the usual place. Had a bit of a panic just now when I realized that I had left my keys, credit cards, and driving licence in my car. I was just about to abandon my half eaten breakfast and rush out to the car park when it occurred to me that I can lock the car remotely with the Tesla app. So I opened the app and was relieved to see that the car was unlocked and still parked where I left it. Which proves that the key is still there. So now it's locked.

Oh The convenience of remote key locking of a car

@turbineman40 The problem with remote locking of my car via the app is that because the key was in the car just touching the door handle is enough to prompt the car to look for the key and of course find it and unlock. There is no way to actually lock the key in the car so that the car will refuse to open when the door handle is touched.

@ninalanyon Interesting features of your car

@turbineman40 It has walk away lock and keyless start so normally I don't even take the key out of my handbag. Just walking up to the car with the key in my bag or a pocket is enough to unlock it and then you just put it in gear and drive away. When you get out and walk away the car notices that the key is out of range and locks the doors. I think Tesla might have been one of th earliest companies to have such a feature but i think more cars have it now. It can be disabled so that you need to click the key to lock and unlock.
