I feel for you my son has been in this battle for 20 years and has just recently become stabilized. Thankfully. It has cost him part of his foot, but even that is finally healing. Diabetes is nothing to play with. God bless.

@djscott my mom lost all the toes on her left foot.
My sister in law a leg.
It's a terrible disease and not easily controlled.
Glad your son was able to stabilize.

I have had type 2 Diabetes for about 7 years now. It got out of control a few years ago and my new Consultant put me on insulin for a while. I was fitted with a Libre2 sensor to monitor myself in real time. When my blood sugars had stabilised she took me off the insulin and relied on oral medication only. At my last examination a couple of months ago, she reduced the dosage and signed me off back to my GP. She impressed on me that I shouldn't worry about spikes within a couple of hours of eating - as long as I'm basically in the range of 5 to 9 I needn't worry.

Good luck, @Justmeraeagain

@Justmeraeagain You're welcome - we all need reassurance from fellow sufferers.

I know people with diabetes who are being far less attentive to what they need to do than you are. It sounds as if you are taking care of yourself.

And.....I just wanted to chime in to let you know that some of us here are old enough to recognize the Frank Sinatra reference in your title! 😅
