Nina's Blog - Sunday 30th March 2025

Sunday 30th March 2025, 20:13

The usual busy Sunday, cooking, eating drinking. Watched Carry on Loving. Made in 1970, look at all those miniskirts! I'll start wearing mine soon.

Here's what I've worn today, starting with what I wore in bed

Interesting.. I wonder now looking at you, how many years is it you're growing your hair ? Was there a period you've had them short ?

@being The last time I had my hair professionally cut was in 1971 when I was 16. Since then I have only trimmed it, or had my wife trim it. I kept it trimmed to shoulder length while I was working in England but let it get longer and longer from 1986 onwards, at one point it was down to my waist. I haven't trimmed it for about 25 years now but it still gets shorter all the time. It grows so slowly that it never needs cutting and I always wear it in a pony tail so it never needs styling.

@ninalanyon you know these traditions where they think that a certain power resides in the hair and so they never cut them off..

@being Samson and Delilah! :-)

@ninalanyon Do you identify with Samson I wonder...:)
It's also part of some Native American people, Japanese, Rastafari, amongst a few that pops up in mind.

@being No, not at all. Samson was a judge I think, not my thing. And the very idea of pushing the pillars over and dying in the process doesn't appeal. Also I'm an atheist.

I occasionally think that I might cut my hair off altogether just as my younger two sons have and then wear a wig instead but that sounds like more effort that just leaving it as it is. It's aggravating enough having to shave my face and body without needing to defuzz my scalp as well.

@ninalanyon Oh I like the hair, I think you can keep it, but it's your decision of course
