Nina's Blog - Wednesday 25th December 2024

Wednesday 25th December 2024, 11:03

Merry Christmas everyone!

Baked bread this morning, mince pies and tarts yesterday. The cheesecake is setting in the fridge. The turkey should be thawed now but I won't need to put it in the oven for hours yet because it i just a lump of turkey meat not a whole bird. According to the label it only takes seventy five minutes in the oven and as we intend to eat at about 16:00 I won't need to think about it until about 14:00.

So I should have time to use up the left over pastry to make some jam tarts.

Dressed all in reds and pinks today.

It's a very bright sunny day and that made it difficult to get good pictures. What little snow we had yesterday has all evaporated.

@meggie Thank you. I don't often wear this suit because I'm usually wanting to show off my legs. But when I have all three boys (grown men in fact) around for the day I tone down my inner exhibitionist a little. I love to cook, probably because I don't have to. Baking is very satisfying, perhaps because it lasts a little longer than just a meal. And I usually manage to cook at least one thing that each of my sons likes; that makes me feel good even while they are telling me that some other part of the mal didn't quite work!
