Nina's Blog - Friday 20th September 2024

Friday 20th September 2024, 13:58

Had to post a parcel which is unusual for small packets, most people choose to use the Helthjem service instead which picks up from my postbox. But I go out walking anyway so it just means I have a specific place to go.

Today's outfit is mostly blue denim

You're always barefoot, why? I can't go outside barefoot, my feet stay cold all year long. Even in the hottest part of summer

@Tumbleweed I've been going barefoot for all of my adult life to some degree. It's just so much more comfortable and it's much better for your feet than being constricted in shoes all the time. But since I've been dressing more openly I've started wearing pretty heels more often too. Just for a few hours once or twice a week though, suffering for style!

If your feet are cold even in hot weather perhaps you have some kind of circulation problem. One that should be investigated?

@ninalanyon I think it's cool, I do like your style! And, ahh, the heels, they never get comfortable!!

@Tumbleweed Thank you! But do I have an identifiable style? I mean, I wear skirts from floor length to very mini and tops from totally covering to revealing my belly.

As for heels, well it depends how high they are, how well they fit, how long I wear them. I have a small problem with my right Achilles' tendon and that occasionally gets annoying, wearing heels relieves the stress on it and makes it more comfortable. My doctor told me to build up the heel of my shoes with a pad of paper towels or similar. He said this with a smile and followed it by saying that he knew that would be difficult as I go barefoot most of the time. A while later (early this year) it occurred to me that I now have a medical reason for wearing heels! Until then I had thought that it was difficult and I only did it it indoors to show off my legs to lovers. But having a reason to do it meant trying harder and I found that it's not half so difficult nor half as painful as expected! :-)

So I stil go barefoot most of the time but spend a day in heels about once a week. I've discovered that I'm vain, I love the way heels show off my legs. I don't know how long they'll stay looking good so I'm determined to make the most of them while I have the chance.

@ninalanyon I think your style is very casual and down to earth. It makes you look gentle and approachable

@Tumbleweed That makes sense I suppose. The last time I wore a formal suit (male at the time) was when I was sixteen, fifty two years ago and the last time I wore a tie was the last day at the company I left in 1982. I went to the interview for the next job with no tie and got the job and haven't worn one since. I still keep my school tie for sentimental reasons but I never wear it.
