🎶 I Needed You And You Where There..🎶

Although, I make no judgments on anyone.
I'm kind of sad when I see women saying "I Don't Need No Man", because my sister, who is independent, cable, and strong desperately wants her man.
She's being denied this strong supply of strength, help, and companionship due to the cancer that is killing him.

Perhaps,we don't need our men, but we want them.
We cherish their companionship and yes, their strength.

Old age, physical set backs, and impending death rob us of our strong men and we must either help shoulder the load, do without the help we once relied on, or find other solutions.
And we will find a way, because we have to.

Perhaps ,we chose to need
them, because that's love, that's respect, and don't we all want to be needed?

Will we really say at the end of our lives we're glad nobody needed us?
We are glad we're going to die and as we lived, alone?
I'm so happy I was never able to help anybody else?

I don't know?
But as I see my sister struggles
I'm not ever going to say that "I don't need my man"
Instead, I'll try to thank God for him, appreciate him, love him, and choose to need him.

Sure, I'm an independent woman in a lot of ways...

I've had to be strong enough to silently take an adult man beating me from the age of 8... and through a myriad of abusive relationships.

The truth is that I still need my man, I still need the calm place from time to time. Someone who doesn't mind pulling me close for a hug that I didn't know that I needed.

It doesn't make me any less independent to have these scars that I can only heal with love in a safe place that I don't have anywhere else.

@HootyTheNightOwl So glad you found a good man.
My sister was in a bad marriage and then she found her current boyfriend.💔
