I think I must be moving too fast for Google. An hour or so ago Google Wallet told me connect to internet and retry in Aldi Nord. Couldn't do that, I only have PAYG, too time consuming at the checkout. So got a Norwegian credit card out of my handbag. That wouldn't work either, perhaps because it was the card that is connected to Google Wallet. So I had to use the one connected to my UK bank.
Then a few minutes ago in IKEA Google Wallet just kept saying retry on the same card. So I tried the Norwegian card again, worked straight away.
All very odd. I've been using Google Wallet for months without trouble in the UK, France, Belgium, and yesterday in Germany.
