Listening to a BBC R4 programme The Reunion about Michael Sheen and others who were part of The Passion of Christ in Port Talbot. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m001yhf8

At one point he was in character in the street and dying for a piss. He got one of the actors to ask some people who were watching from the balcony of the flat if Sheen could use their loo.

Sheen pretended to collapse so he stayed in character and was carried in. As he was in the bathroom he could hear the wife asking her husband if he had put clean towels in the bathroom and then saying "Michael Sheen's in there using dirty towels!", her husband apparently replied something like "Don't worry they'll be like the Turin Shroud."

The whole thing sounds like a marvellous event.

I try not to spend much time ranting here, I do enough of that in 'real life'. But I'm mektig irritert just now. Sorry about the Norwegian, it was what came to mind instead of mightily irritated.

Anyway, I found a recipe for a cheesecake that I thought I might try. One of the ingredients is 1 ts vaniljeessens, one teaspoon of vanilla essence in English, but I haven't got any. I do have vanilla sugar though. So I went to Google (other search engines are available as they say on the BBC) and did this search:
hvor mye vaniljesukker erstatter essens
I had to wade through about thirty pages of fora where people had asked essentially the same question but were answered with snooty advice about not using vanilla essence at all because it's not as good as vanilla extract and to avoid vanilla sugar at all costs because it's not real vanilla by ethyl vanillin; and of course those who had their noses elevated most highly declared that none of these things were to be allowed in the house and that only ekte vaniljestenger (real vanilla pods) are acceptable.

Yeah, yeah, I already know all that and if I had a vanilla pod handy I'd use that.

What I don't understand is why people go to the effort of typing a reply that doesn't even pretend to answer the question. If you can't or won't answer the question then just keep quiet.

Anyway I did eventually find one answer.
I såfall hvor mye vs trenger en hvis det står 1 ts ve i oppskriften?
(At least how much vanilla sugar does one need if it says 1 teaspoon in the recipe?)

Det er ikke helt det samme, men det går. Ville tatt 2 t-skjeer vaniljesukker.
(It's not quite the same, but it works. I would use 2 teaspoons vanilla sugar.
Rant over, back to the normal programme.

On my walk to the shops this morning to get the makings for a mandarin cheesecake I passed the fountain. Last time I walked past it was in disarray while being refurbished. Now it's running again. It's not a grand fountain but it fits the space nicely. The fjord on one side, ferry mooring and bus stop to the right, car park for one of the four local supermarkets opposite that, and across the road another car park that is used as a marketplace a few times a year.

While I was writing my rant about vanilla sugar and the inability of people to answer a simple question on line Radio Caroline was playing Nits, In The Dutch Mountains. Brilliant track.
