Been to one charity shop to see if they had a butter dish big enough for a standard size block of butter. They didn't have any at all. No earrings either.

So now I'm having breakfast

Went to another charity shop, Guts in Drammen. Their clothes and jewellery section is quite cheap but as usual there were no interesting skirts or dresses in my size. It seems that as soon as you get to EUR 42, UK 14 in skirt sizes everything suddenly gets longer and blacker. All the colourful and patterned miniskirts were too small for me.

But I bought two pairs of earrings and a ring for 30 NOK, about 2.50 GBP.

Stopped on the way home and put my trousers on over my skirt, took off my furry earrings, put on my walking boots, took the inserts out of my bra. When I got home I changed into androgynous clothes. Then I went into the kitchen to make tea and fill the bread maker. It wasn't until I sat down with the tea that it dawned on me that I had forgotten to wipe off my lipstick!

Nr. 2 son was in but upstairs in his room so he didn't see me.

@ninalanyon Good for you and number two son being upstairs. How would you think he would react to find you in lipstick?
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@turbineman40 I have no idea how he would react. Not ready to find out, not just yet.

@ninalanyon I can understand that statement. Have you ever tried to talk to him about cross dressing in general? It must be a tough subject to bring up to him
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@turbineman40 I've never tried to talk about cross dressing to any of my family or friends. We aren't a very communicative bunch of people really. At least with some people it would be simpler if I were just gay. My best friend from high school certainly has no problem with that, his sister and his son are both gay and it's not the slightest problem for him. But cross dressing is something else again and I have no idea how he would react.
turbineman40 · 80-89, M
@ninalanyon Perhaps you should approach him to get a feeling how he would react?
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@turbineman40 I have been considering visiting him and just turning up in a skirt to get the whole event over all at once! But I'm too cowardly! So far anyway.

@ninalanyon May I suggest a slower introduction to your son about liking to dress. Do you think he would be receptive of the idea of your dressing? A big shock might be too much
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@turbineman40 All three of them and my sister and company see me dress in androgynous clothing, jewellery, and short shorts But I still worry about ow they would react to me in a skirt, lipstick, bra, and fem boots or flats.
turbineman40 · 80-89, M
@ninalanyon it might be good to start asking questions to them about how they might react. Pop
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@turbineman40 If I felt comfortable doing that i would probably not be in the situation I am in. I'd have been out a long time ago. It's precisely because I find it difficult to raise difficult subjects that I am unable to nudge the conversation in that direction. We aren't a very talkative bunch in my family, it's hard to slip something into a conversation because the conversation is so sparse that any unusual topic stands out.
turbineman40 · 80-89, M
@ninalanyon I am sure you can make a conversation start in your skillful ways. Start a hint and let it grow from there.

@turbineman40 One day I'll probably just wear a skirt and stuffed bra and hope for the best!
